Pampered Mama Use #8: 3 Ways To Be More Radiant

Posted by Heather on

Can you keep a secret?

For a mere $100-$300 dollars you could treat yourself to an all over body scrub at a spa. The result - healthy naturally soft glowing skin. You can also recreate this spa treatment at home for pennies on the dollar to exfoliate and to freshen up the skin. It's true and in actuality these semi-homemade scrubs may even impart more benefits than those used in some high end spas. The best part - you probably have everything you need at home to try at least one of these today!

Exposure to pollution, dirt, stress and sun damages skin. This leads to dull skin and develops early signs of aging such as fine lines and uneven skin tone. Gentle abrasion evens skin tone by removing accumulated dead and damaged skin cells. The gentle massaging application of a body scrub on the skin enhances blood circulation; increasing collagen production and skin cell regeneration to prevent wrinkles and other signs of aging.

The exfoliation body scrubs soften rough skin. Use as a foot scrub to eliminate calluses and cracked heels. Regular exfoliation using a body scrub scrub can improve skin regeneration to lighten and soften knees and elbows.

3 Ways To Be More Radiant

Sugar Scrub Benefits and Uses

The fine texture gently exfoliates removing excess oil, dirt and dead skin cells that clog pores. Removal of these irritants can prevent acne, whiteheads, blackheads, breakouts and other skin blemishes. Sugar scrub also acts as a moisturizer which can decrease the symptoms of eczma and psoriasis. It safe to use even on children's sensitive skin , as a facial scrub and to soothe chapped lips.

CJ's BUTTer® Sugar Scrub Recipe
1 Part White Sugar
1 Part Brown Sugar
2 Parts CJ's BUTTer® Spritz

Mix sugars together, then stir in Spritz Note: if you are mixing more than you will use in a single application ensure your container has a lid. This mixture will easily keep for several months if it is kept covered between uses and care is taken to keep water out.

Wash your skin - we recommend using CJ's Carcass Cleaner, rinse well.

Apply a liberal amount of sugar scrub to wet skin, massaging in a circular motion.

Finally, rinse off well but do not use soap after the sugar scrub as you want to allow your skin to absorb these beneficial moisturizing oils.

Quick Lip Scrub Recipe
1 Lemon Wedge
1 Packet or 1/2 tsp sugar

Squeeze lemon lightly and coat with sugar, rub onto lips in a circular motion focusing on any rough patches. Rub lips together, rinse with water. Apply CJ's BUTTer® Lip Balm to lock in moisture and provide deep healing for unbelievably soft and silky lips.

Salt Scrub Benefits and Uses

Sea salts and Epsom salts contain minerals that can help to enhance the skin. Epsom salts reduce inflammation and flush out toxins. Sea salt is derived from evaporated seawater which also contains minerals that are very beneficial to the skin. Salt has antiseptic qualities which kill bacteria and reduce inflammation as well as bacterial related pain and itching. Salt scrub is significantly more abrasive than sugar scrub which can be beneficial for areas requiring more exfoliation such as calluses, however it should not be used on extremely sensitive skin, faces, children. Salt scrub will create a burning sensation if it comes in contact with open wounds or freshly shaved skin, should this occur flush with water until burning subsides.
